Tetracycline-containing medicinal product for the treatment of intestinal infections caused by germs of Escherichia coli in newborn calves

registration number: 79/035/76-S

Composition: One sachet (25 g) contains: Active ingredients: Immunoglobulin bovinum 500 mg, Tetracyclin hydrochloride 750 mg, Retinol acetase 200,000 IU, Ergocalciferol 15,000 IU, Tocoferol alpha acetate 30 mg. Excipients: Calcium gluconate, monohydrate, Sodium hydrogen phosphate, Glucose.

Animal species: Cattle – newborn calves.

Characteristics: The medicine with colostrum nutrition provides normoglobulinemia and normoproteinemia. The protein and immunological profile of calves is established after 24 hours and completely after 48 hours.

Gamma globulin is resorbed into the blood from mallow and duodenum, which is detected in the gamma globulin fraction, partially A and M globulin. It is also reflected in the concentration of total blood proteins, fibrinogen and albumin (resorption simultaneously from the drug and related colostrum and milk nutrition). Tetracycline inhibits protein synthesis by affecting ribosomes, penetrates tissues and organs. The highest concentrations are in the kidneys, liver, lungs and at the sites where ossification takes place. It penetrates less into the cerebrospinal fluid, it penetrates better in meningitis. It penetrates the placenta and is detected in the fetal bloodstream. It penetrates easily through the peritoneum. It enters the prostate gland. It is excreted from 1/3 by the kidneys and bile, high concentrations are also in the liver. It is excreted in milk after oral and parenteral administration. It reaches its highest concentrations in 6 hours. Immunoglobulins and vitamins support the animal's immune system.

Application: Oral administration. The drug should be administered immediately after birth, at the latest within 24 hours. Repeat the treatment on the 2nd and 3rd day with the same dose. The absorption of tetracycline from the intestinal tract can be reduced by polyvalent cations (including milk, colostrum and dairy products). The interval between administration of these substances and tetracyclines should be 2-3 hours.

Dosage:

The contents of the sachet (25 g), corresponding to one dose per calf, are dissolved in 200 ml of tea or drinking water heated to a temperature of 25-30 °C to form a homogeneous suspension without the presence of sediments. This homogeneous medicated suspension should be consumed immediately.
