Anthelmintic in the form of oral powder containing fenbendazole for the therapy of flatworms and roundworms of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs in ruminants and pigs

Composition: Fenbendazole 25 mg in 1 g, Wheat starch, Calcium hydrogen phosphate.

Animal species: Cattle, pigs, sheep and goats.

Characteristics:The product acts on developmental stages and adult flatworms and roundworms of the gastrointestinal system and lungs in cattle, pigs, sheep and goats. Suitable for therapy of Hemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Nematodirus spp., Neoascaris vitulorum, Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., Capillaria spp., Trichuris spp., Strongyloides  spp., Hyostrongylus rubidus, Ascaris suum, Amidostomum spp., Heterakis ssp., Dictyocaulus filaria, Dictyocaulus  viviparus, Metastrongylus spp.

At low therapeutic doses of fenbendazole has a wide spectrum of action on nematodes of the digestive system and on lungworms of ruminants and pigs. With therapeutic doses, the developmental stages of parasites are largely destroyed. The shedding of eggs in treated animals takes about 24 hours. Fenbendazole also has a ovicid effect. In the macroorganism, it has an anthelmintic effect and does not significantly affect the physiological functions of the body. 

Application: Peroral application. 

The drug is administered once, mixed into the daily dose of feed of the individual.

As a preventive measure, it is given in spring period and the second applicatopn is recommended in the same way in the fall.

To ensure that the correct dose is administered, determine the live weight of animals as accurately as possible.

The accuracy of the dosing device must be controlled.

If animals are treated in bulk rather than individually, in order to avoid underdose or overdose, they should be grouped by body weight and the dosage adjusted accordingly.

Dosage: 

Cattle: gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes: single dose of 7,5 mg fenbendazole per kg of body weight (i.e. 15 g of the drug per 50 kg of body weight).

Pigs, sheep and goats: gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes: single dose (5 mg fenbendazole per kg of weight ( i.e. 20 g of the drug per 100 kg body weight).

In pigs, if necessary, this dose can be given for 5 days.

Warnings and Precautions: 

Avoid direct contact with the skin as much as possible. 

In case of accidental ingestion, inhalation or contact with eyes, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.

Wash your hands after use.

There are not known side effects when the therapeutic dose is observed.

It is not recommended for use throughout pregnancy.

It is not recommended to administer antifasciolics concomitantly. 

Do not combine with penicillin drugs.

The medicinal product does not exhibit subacute or chronic toxicity when administered orally at therapeutic doses.

Withdrawal period:

Cattle:

Meat and viscera:                   14 days.

Cow's milk:                             120 hours (10 milkings).

Sheeps and goats:

Meat and viscera:                    21 days.

Sheep's and goat's milk:          7 days.

Pigs:

Meat and viscera :                   5 days.

Storage: The product should be stored in dry place at temperature up to 25°C, protected from direct sunlight. Store out of the reach of children.

Package size: 10 g, 20 g, 100 g, 500 g, 1 kg.

Shelf life: 36 months from the date of manufacture. After mixing into the feed, use immediately.
