Oral anthelmintic for sport pigeons and exotic birds
registration number: 96/0006/95-S
Composition: 1 tablet contains: Active ingredient: Albendazole 10 mg. Excipients: Milk sugar, Potato starch, Sodium salt of carboxymethyl starch A, Corn starch, Calcium stearate, Talc.
Animal species: Sports pigeons, exotic birds.
Characteristics: Albendazole is a benzimidazole carbamate with anthelmintic and antiprotozoal effects against intestinal and tissue parasites. It has a larvicidal, fruiticidal and vermicidal effect, and it is believed that its anthelmintic effect consists in inhibiting the polymerization of tubulin. This leads to disruption of the metabolism of parasites, including the depletion of energy reserves, which immobilizes and subsequently kills sensitive parasites. Albendazole is effective against intestinal parasites – nematodes, cestodes, trematodes, and protozoa.
Albendazole passes rapidly through the liver and, as a rule, is not detectable in plasma. The primary metabolite is albendazole sulfoxide, which is considered effective against systemic infections in tissues. The plasma half-life of albendazole sulfoxide is 8.5 hours. Albendazole sulfoxide and its metabolites are excreted mainly in the bile, only a small part is excreted in the urine.
Application: Oral application. The tablets should be administered directly or mixed into food. It is recommended to give it before morning feeding.

Sport pigeons, exotic birds: Apply once 1 tablet (10 mg albendazole) per bird.
